Good article.

I agree with your view of history and find myself disagreeing with some of what Paul says, specifically 'I dont disagree with the Neocon theory of spreading America's goodness abroad, just not with force'

I object to America trying to spread anything abroad!

Too many 'progressive' things have been born in America later to be exported to the rest of the world, marring it in the process.

As you say, Wilsonianism, this idea that 'democracy' is so great, the idea that it marks the 'end of history' is absurd.

Modern feminism came from America, and look how it poisons Europe?

Multi-culturalism and diversity came from America and is now used to bludgeon us in to shutting up and accepting unending third world immigration.

I'm sick of all this crap coming over from America and ruining our 'way of life'!

Ron Paul would hopefully end, or at least restrain the worst part of this American obsession with making the world 'America'.

Thank you, sir.

I basically agree with your comments.

I don't think Dr. Paul would agree that spreading American ideas by positive example is neocon. I certainly would say that scrapping an old order is not conservative – be that peacefully or by force.

Congressman Paul does not believe in democracy, but he believes in a democratic republic, although he does not typically use that phrase. This is part of Ron Paul's "interpretation of history."

Rep. Paul may change America in a significant, positive manner. If he had countered the American myth of the liberty phoenix rising out of the tyranny ashes, he would stand no chance at all. His grassroots support would drop by thousands. That's the way American mythology and democracy work together.
