Half a century ago today, Johan Scharffenberg passed away.
Scharffenberg was active in 1905 for the republican cause in the Kingdom of Norway, but at the end of World War II he was behind a move to give more powers to the King.

I am happy to live in a country where the King, His Majesty King Harald the Fifth, by the Grace of God, of Norway, although a constitutional monarch, does have slightly more power than the King of my birth country, where the King, His Majesty King Carl the Sixteenth Gustaf, by the Grace of God, of Sweden, have been stripped of all His powers, including the constitutional ones. Regards Johan in Oslo, who are returning to a sane position in matters political (I used to be named Sjöberg, but have adopted two old surnames from my family tree).
Welcome back, sir.
As I understand, the King of Sweden still accredits ambassadors. And the diplomatic credentials of ambassadors to Sweden are presented to him.
And there still are some other minor constitutional roles for him.
But yes, he has been stripped of more than the King of Norway.
Perhaps we will see more of you, sir?
