Raise your hand if you noticed that the French were flying the wrong flag.
Yes, sir, a flag adopted in 1794, with other variants only from 1789. They managed to get the British one right, and the rebel flag was created during the war to replace the Grand Union Flag. So those both pass, but the French one is historically misplaced, yes.
Computer games designers don't always get all the history details right.
